Personal finance modelling company SmartAsset has raised $12m in series B funding from investors including New York Life and Transamerica Ventures.

American Express has contributed to a $19m funding round that follows the anti-fraud technology developer's $20m series B round in February this year.

The online finance platform, which has raised almost $1.6bn from investors including Renren and SoftBank, is looking to close the funding in the next few weeks.

Garena has added funding from SeaTown, Global Digital Prima Venture and Mistletoe to more than $500m previously raised from backers including Tencent.

Xenodata, the developer of a financial data platform, won the $19,000 first prize at the demo day with stock trading platform Alpaca DB taking second.

The funding, provided through a MediaTek investment unit at a $4.8bn valuation, is set to form part of a $300m round expected to include Alibaba, Fosun and Foxconn.
