A123 has been a corporate venturing investor in its customer, Fisker Automotive, but its battery malfunctioned in a test for the electric car maker and so its sales have fallen this year partly as a result and it needed to raise money.

Founded in 2000, Bytemobile had raised more than $56m from Innovacom, Eastven (which had been the corporate venturing unit of Ericsson) and venture capital firms Benchmark, Trident Capital and CrossBridge Venture Partners.

Vodafone bought a 21% stake in Invitation Digital in May last year and also has the first option to increase its direct shareholding in the future.

SSE has agreed to acquire 40.05% of Wind Towers from Marsh Wind Technology to take its total shareholding to 80.1%.
