Seacor Marine has invested an undisclosed amount in Windcat Workboats, a UK and Netherlands-based operator of wind farm utility vessels.

Independent firm Southern Cross Venture Partners will manage the fund, in which the Australian government is also committing A$100m.

Investment banks Citigroup, Barclays Capital and Piper Jaffray are co-lead underwriters of the initial public offering for the pre-revenue company that posted a $23m net loss for the first nine months of the year.
