US-based Alphabet Energy, a developer of a platform silicon thermoelectric technology, has raised $16m in series B financing led by Encana Corp.

US-based Silver Spring, backed by Google Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Northgate Capital, has set its IPO range at $16-$18 for 3.7 million shares.

In June, Xtreme raised another $10m, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

Tata first invested in Flisom in September 2009.

Repsol New Energy Ventures said it had struck a strategic investment in Tocardo to provide a platform for both companies to develop offshore tidal energy.

In December, Consert said it was in advanced talks with undisclosed potential buyers for an acquisition before the end of the year, according to news provider CleanTech Group.
