Cherry Murray, dean of Harvard's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, launched Xfund in January and its "experiments underway" include Rock Health, Tivli, Omada and QED.

Cliqr Technologies, a US-based provider of services for applications, has raised $1m in its seed round from corporate venturing unit Google Ventures and venture capital firm Foundation Capital.

Alongside KBS+P Ventures in the round were venture capital firms and angel investors.

The Hadasit Bio-Holdings, a listed portfolio of biotech companies based on intellectual property developed at Israel medical research centre, Hadassah University Hospital, and France-based pharmaceutical group Sanofi, has raised $2.6m at a pre-money valuation of $11m.

Google Ventures and IDG Ventures are joined in the series A round for the e-mail tracking system by venture firms Foundry Group and Golden Venture Partners.
