Plant science company ZeaKal has raised $3.8m in series A financing from Finistere Ventures, Two Oceans and the Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council.
Life sciences venture fund Finistere Ventures, Two Oceans and the Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council, a farmer-run organization, has participated in a $3.8m round of series A funding into US-based ZeaKal.
There was also involvement from Jerry Caulder, executive chairman at ZeaKal. The company develops technology for increasing the yield and oil content of agricultural crops. ZeaKal was incubated by Kapyon Ventures.
The news funds will be used to develop its HME technology platform across major crops.
