QBE's venture capital arm has hired Daniel Wypler after more than two years at ANZi Ventures where he made 17 investments on behalf of the unit.

Daniel Wypler, former investment director at Australia-based bank ANZ’s corporate venturing vehicle, has been hired by local insurer QBE as managing partner of its QBE Ventures unit.

Having joined ANZi Ventures (ANZi) in May 2018, Wypler made 17 investments, adding nine companies to its portfolio and deploying more than A$125m ($87m).

Wypler’s earlier roles had included an investment associate position at fund manager AMP’s New Ventures unit before it was closed.
