The Juniper Networks, Wargaming and CME Group-backed secure messaging system developer has now raised about $82m in the five years since it was founded.

Wickr, a US-based secure communication platform developer backed by corporates Juniper Networks, Wargaming and CME Group, has raised $8.75m in new funding, according to a regulatory filing.

The equity financing came from 12 investors and forms part of a round the company aims to close at $13m.
