Upthere, a US-based personal storage service provider backed by corporates including telecoms firm NTT Docomo, was acquired by storage equipment producer Western Digital for an undisclosed sum on Monday.
Upthere operates a cloud storage service for users’ photos, videos, documents and music. The service can be accessed through mobile apps or through the desktop.
The technology and Upthere’s staff will join Western Digital’s Client Solutions unit.
