Piau Voon Wang has joined Legend Capital as managing director and chief operating officer, on the back of earlier appointments at a number of investment firms.
Piau Voon Wang (pictured) has been appointed managing director and chief operating officer of Legend Capital, the venture capital firm formed by conglomerate Legend Holdings, DealStreetAsia has reported.
Wang arrives at Legend Capital after stints as a co-chief investment officer at asset management firm Noah Holdings from 2016 until 2017, and as a partner from 1999 to 2016 at private equity firm Adams Street Partners, where he contributed to a new strategy for investments into Asia.
Wang previously worked as a manager in the M&A consulting department for now-defunct accounting firm Arthur Andersen, and has also provided his services to the investment teams at Nikko Capital Singapore and Indosuez Asset Management. He is currently an independent director at private equity fund-of-funds Astrea III and a director at PV Advisory.
Legend Capital was founded in 2001 and claims to have some $65bn of assets under management. It concentrates on investments in early and growth-stage businesses.
The firm is more than halfway towards the $1bn target it has set for its eighth VC fund, and is also seeking $250m for a health-themed vehicle called LC Healthcare Fund II, according to DealStreetAsia.
