The US-based venture capital firm hits the road in a 42-foot RV around universities in the Great Lakes region.

Drive Capital, a venture capital firm headquartered in Ohio, will visit Ohio State University, Carnegie Mellon University, in Pennsylvania, and Michigan University. This follows the firm’s raising of $250m in February 2014, which allowed it to create its Drive Capital Fund I. Out of that amount, $50m came from Ohio State University.
The firm will be hosting office hours in co-founder Mark Kvamme’s personal RV. He will, along with partners Chris Olsen and Robert Hatta, give advice and listen to pitches from students and entrepreneurs, during four-hour blocks at each school that include time slots for scheduled visits.
Drive Capital is advertising its tour as a chance to pick the brains of successful investors such as Kvamme, who was an early investor in LinkedIn. The RV will be stopping at Ohio State’s Business Builders Club on April 14, at Carnegie Mellon University on April 15, and at Michigan State University on April 16.
Mark Kvamme said: “Where the great entrepreneurship happens is the universities. We’re trying to be a service to the community, give them a little advice.”
