Intel Capital was among the investors in a round that will be used by the interactive entertainment provider to expand its largest event into a national brand.

US-based interactive entertainment company Two Bit Circus secured $6.5m on Wednesday in a series A round that included Intel Capital, semiconductor manufacturer Intel’s corporate venturing unit.

The round was co-led by Techstars Ventures, which acts as the venture capital branch of accelerator Techstars, and VC firm Foundry Group. It represents the first external funding to be raised by the startup, which was founded in 2012.
