Digital whiteboard Trello, incubated within software company Fog Creek, has announced it is now an independent company and has raised $10.3m in funding.

US-based project management tool Trello, has raised $10.3m in funding and spun-out of software tool developer Frog Creek after three years, the Wall Street Journal reported yesterday.

The startup’s series A round was co-led by venture capital firms Index Ventures and Spark Capital, and also included undisclosed angel investors.

Trello is a digital whiteboard designed for visual learners and group management, and its clients include Microsoft, Google, Adobe, Kickstarter and Tumblr.
