Torqeedo skims the waves with $7.4m

Robert Bosch Venture Capitals co-leads the funding of the boat motor manufacturer alongside Wheb Partners.

The corporate venturing unit of Germany-based industrial group Robert Bosch has helped Torqeedo. a Germany-based designer of motors for boats, raise €5.6m ($7.4m).

Robert Bosch Venture Capital was joined leading the series C round by Wheb Partners, with other investments from Brose Trust, linked to the eponymous auto parts company, Extorel, founded by German businessman Falk Strascheg and BayBG, a Germany-based venture capital firm backed by industrial and financial companies.

Wheb Ventures led a €4.7m investment in Torqeedo in 2010.…
