Tencent and Korea-based games developer Wemade Entertainment join the corporate venturing unit of online media and development company CyberAgent backing the Korea-based mobile messaging application maker.

China-based internet company Tencent has reportedly teamed up with Korea online games developer Wemade Entertainment to invest KRW92bn ($80 million) in Kakao Talk, a Korea-based mobile messaging application maker, for an 13.8% stake.

CyberAgent Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of Japan-based online media and development company CyberAgent, invested an undisclosed amount in the Korea-based mobile application (app) developer Kakao in September last year.
