Qualcomm-backed physical performance analysis platform Sparta Science has raised series A funds as it looks to expand from sports into clinical health.

Sparta Science, a US-based athletic fitness evaluation startup backed by mobile semiconductor producer Qualcomm, raised $7m on Wednesday in a series A round led by venture capital fund Playground Global.

Sparta has developed a software platform that utilises data technology to allow users to quickly scan athletic performance and resilience in order to assess factors such as fitness, individual strengths and weaknesses, and the risk of injury.
