Schillace had spent a little over a year at Google Ventures before joining Box after its recent $125m round.

Sam Schillace (pictured), a principal in the investment team at search engine Google’s corporate venturing unit, has left to join cloud storage company Box as vice-president of engineering.

Schillace had spent a little over a year at Google Ventures and remains on its website as an adviser, but joined the company in 2006 as a senior engineering director when it acquired his start-up Writely that became part of Google Docs.
