The AI-powered video analytics technology producer, which is backed by Telstra, EMC, Acer and HTC, has raised $15m to fuel an expansion into fintech.

Taiwan-based big data and video analytics technology provider Gorilla has received $15m in series D funding from SBI Investment, a corporate venture capital subsidiary of financial services provider SBI Group.

Founded in 2010, Gorilla has created technology that uses artificial intelligence technology to identify, analyse and extract information from digital content for customers in the retail, enterprise and surveillance industries.
