The artificial intelligence technology developer doubled its valuation to $5.1bn in a round led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and backed by GV and Intel Capital.

Internet and telecommunications group SoftBank’s Vision Fund 2 led a $676m series D round for US-headquartered artificial intelligence software developer SambaNova Systems yesterday.

The round included Intel Capital and GV, corporate venturing subsidiaries for semiconductor and data technology provider Intel and internet and technology group Alphabet respectively, and it valued the company at $5.1bn, chief executive Rodrigo Liang told TechCrunch.
