Tencent co-led the round, the first to be raised by the mobile game studio, which is best known for its Dots puzzle games.
US-based mobile game studio Playdots has secured $10m in a series A round co-led by internet portal Tencent and venture capital firm Greycroft Partners.
The round’s other backers were VC firms Northzone and CrunchFund, and an Alphaworks syndicate comprised of Slow Ventures and a selection of angel investors including undisclosed game industry executives.
