Taehong Huh, managing partner at GS Futures, is one of the 100 leading corporate venturing professionals in our 2026 Powerlist.

GS Futures is the corporate VC fund backed by South Korean conglomerate GS Group and its affiliates across energy, construction, retail and trading, targeting early-stage opportunities in the US and Europe.

Taehong Huh leads the firm’s corporate and investment strategy, global business development and portfolio management, while also representing several board positions in portfolio companies such as Mitrachem and Debut.

GS Futures is currently operating three different funds. Two are group-level funds and one is a built-environment focused fund which is led by the other managing partner Aaron Toppston.

Headquartered in San Mateo, California, GS Futures serves as a strategic investment platform that bridges global startups with GS Group’s core business sectors, including energy, retail and construction. Its target investments are in physical AI and robotics, built environment and construction, energy and industrial transition and digital platforms and infrastructure.

As of early 2026, GS Futures has invested in over 60 companies, including startups like Amesa, Graphon AIandArticul8 that were among the ones brought to GS Group executives for deployment discussions in an April AI collaboration event.

The most strategically important recent proof point involves ammonia-based power technology developer Amogy, where GS Futures and GS E&C directly joined a $15m strategic investment round in November to support ammonia-to-power deployment, including a Pohang pilot plant.

Last year was also an active one for exits, with CivCheck being acquired by Clariti; Eaton buying Resilient Power; Blockpour/OpenBlocks being purchased by Supra.

Huh, a former GCV Emerging Leader award winner and fourth-generation member of the GS founding family, set up GS Futures in 2020. He was previously a director of investment and business strategy at GSL Labs, a media and entertainment incubator that supported startups and creators with funding, mentorship and resources.

Previously, Toppston spent two years as managing director for Walsh Investment Group, the investment division of construction company Walsh Group, managing all infrastructure investment activities and supporting the Walsh family’s investment in startups and operating companies.
