Murari Perumalsamy, head at CRH Ventures, is one of the 100 leading corporate venturing professionals in our 2026 Powerlist.

Murari Perumalsamy leads CRH Ventures, the corporate VC team of building products company CRH that invests in construction and climate technologies across the construction value chain. Appointed in early 2026, he succeeded Eduardo Gomez Mendoza, now EVP, strategy for CRH Americas.

Based in Germany, Perumalsamy joined CRH in 2022 bringing over 15 years of experience across strategy, consulting, corporate development and mergers and acquisitions in building materials.

CRH Ventures partners with founders to scale technologies with CRH operating companies, backed by access to capital from CRH’s venturing and innovation investment fund. The team also runs accelerators to source and test new solutions, which to date includes programmes for water solutions, roads of the future, and sustainable building materials.

Commenting on the team’s future direction and the work ahead, Perumalsamy said, “This is an exciting moment for CRH Ventures. Building on the team’s strong foundations, we will continue to invest ambitiously and strategically in innovative companies – working with our businesses and partners to scale solutions that deliver impact for customers and the built environment.”

When asked if he’d do anything differently if CRH Ventures was starting now, Perumalsamy said, “If we were starting today, I’d place even greater emphasis from day one on the route from pilot to scale – with clearer pathways into our operating companies to expand successful solutions across the business.”

Founded in 2022, CRH Ventures is a $250m fund that invests in climate tech and construction tech startups.

Recent activity includes a series A investment in Voda.ai, which supports AI-driven analytics for water infrastructure decision-making. More recently, CRH Ventures also announced a strategic investment in Citylogix, whose platform uses LiDar, high-definition cameras and machine learning to create digital twins of roadways and support pavement condition assessment and roadway asset management.
