Mads Møller, group VP and head of ventures at ABB Electrification, is one of the 100 leading corporate venturing professionals in our 2026 Powerlist.

Mads Møller leads ABB Electrification Ventures, which represents more than half of ABB’s global revenues and focuses on strategic investments across electrification, grid modernisation, digital infrastructure, industrial AI and next-generation power systems. The team invests primarily in series A and B companies and actively manages a portfolio of 15 entities across Europe and North America.
Since 2021, ABB Electrification Ventures has invested more than $110m across 18 companies.
Under Møller’s leadership, the team executed a record 10+ venture transactions in 2025, further strengthening ABB’s position as one of the most strategically engaged industrial technology investors globally. Since 2009, ABB has made over $500m venture investments across business areas.
With more than 20 years of experience across venture capital, growth investments, M&A and industrial technology, Møller brings a combination of investment discipline and deep sector expertise spanning energy systems, digital technologies and critical infrastructure.
Before joining ABB, he held senior leadership roles spanning technology investments, acquisitions and business development within leading industrial and life sciences companies. He also brings direct investment expertise from his time as a partner in a venture capital fund.
A core focus for ABB Electrification Ventures is helping startups bridge the gap between innovation and industrial deployment.
“Most startups do not fail because of technology – they fail because of barriers like scaling into critical infrastructure and industrial environments,” says Møller. “Our role is not only to invest capital, but to help companies scale through access to customers, domain expertise, and ABB’s global infrastructure and ecosystem.”
ABB Electrification Ventures increasingly focuses on strategic investment themes including grid automation, digital energy management, AI-enabled optimisation, data centre power infrastructure and DC power systems. The team adds four to five new companies annually on average, with an increasing focus on larger and more strategic investment opportunities in line with ABB’s business priorities.
