Ginger Rothrock, managing director at HG Ventures, is one of the 100 leading corporate venturing professionals in our 2026 Powerlist.

Promoted at the end of last year following her inclusion on the GCV Emerging Leaders awards list, Ginger Rothrock is now a managing director at HG Ventures, the corporate VC arm of the US-based industrial conglomerate The Heritage Group.

In her new role, Rothrock manages the team alongside John Glushik who set up the CVC unit after a quarter century at VC firm Intersouth Partners and was on the GCV Powerlist last year.

Founded in 2018, HG Ventures invests in a range of early-stage startups working on everything from advanced materials to environmental solutions.

The firm has made a number of investments so far this year, including R3 Robotics and Molg and had several confidential exits. Rothrock sits on the boards of Pretred, Avenew, ElectraMet, Aclarity, FREDsense and is a board observer at ZwitterCo.

Rothrock has helped convene the specialist water venture investment platform with Xylem and helped drive GCV’s Women in Venture community.

The Heritage Group is a multi-billion-dollar industrial conglomerate and fourth generation family-owned business with deep expertise in industrial sectors across environmental services, construction materials, and applied science and engineering. HG Ventures also works closely with Heritage Research Group, its research and development laboratory.

Based in Indianapolis, Rothrock began her career at HG Ventures nearly six years ago.

Prior to this, she spent seven years at the US-based nonprofit RTI International where she held various positions including senior director of commercialisation and intrapreneurship and vice-president of technology and commercialisation.
