Cisco has joined the backers of the domain name services provider in a round that also included several previous investors.

OpenDNS, a US-based company that provides online security and domain name services, has completed a $35m series C funding round that saw investment from network systems company Cisco.

The round featured re-investment from Greylock Partners and Sequoia Capital, which participated in a $4.5m financing round in 2010, and Sutter Hill Ventures, which invested in the company’s $9.3m series B round in February 2013.
