SeamlessDocs, developer of a document digitisation system for local government, has raised $7m, less than six months after securing $5m in its series A round.

Communications technology producer Motorola Solutions led a $7m series B round for US-based government document digitisation and automation startup SeamlessDocs yesterday, TechCrunch has reported.

The round also included venture capital funds Govtech Fund, New York State Innovation Fund and 1776, and comes after a $5m series A led by Govtech Fund in December 2015.

SeamlessDocs works with local governments to convert PDF forms for local services into clickable smart forms that citizens can complete online on any device and sign using e-signature technology.

The company plans to use the funding to grow its engineering, sales and customer service teams as it expands its offering from local government to federal government agencies and departments.
