The Verizon Ventures and R/GA-backed media startup studio has chosen its first eight participants, each of which will receive $100,000 of funding.

Verizon Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of telecommunications firm Verizon, and R/GA, part of the Interpublic advertising group, have revealed the first eight startups for their Media Tech Venture Studio.

The 14-week initiative, which was announced in March this year, will enable startups to access the corporates’ networks of investors, mentors and brands. Each participant will also receive $100,000 in funding from Media Tech Venture Studio.
