Mobile game developer Kabam has acquired games studio TapZen, which had raised $18m in venture funding from Tencent and Zynga.

Mobile gaming company Kabam has purchased TapZen, a US-based games studio backed by internet portal Tencent and game developer Zynga, for an undisclosed amount.

TapZen raised $8m in a series B round in June 2014 from Tencent, after secuing $10m in series A funding from Zynga in 2012.

Neither Kabam nor TapZen disclosed details of their exits. The acquisition was revealed concurrently with Kabam’s purchase of another games developer, Magic Pixel, and TapZen will now be merged with Magic Pixel…
