Deutsche Telekom is Jawbone's strategic and lead carrier partner for its European expansion.

Germany-based telecoms company Deutsche Telekom through its corporate venturing unit T-Venture has helped US-based Jawbone, a mobile phone accessories firm, raise $40m.

Deutsche Telekom, with its presence in over 50 countries worldwide, is Jawbone’s strategic and lead carrier partner for its European expansion, the US company said. 

Venture capital (VC) firms Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Andreessen Horowitz, Khosla Ventures and Sequoia Capital, angel investor Yuri Milner and investors advised by investment bank JP Morgan’s asset management division also participated in Jawbone’s round.

Jawbone has raised $159m so far this year, including $70m from JP Morgan’s investors, according to news provider TMCnet, and $49m from VC firm Andreessen Horowitz. Founded in 1999, Jawbone has raised $210m in aggregate.
