Plain Vanilla, a publisher of social trivia games, has raised $2.4m in an A round of funding from backers which include Greycroft Partners, Tencent, BOLDStart Ventures, IDG Ventures, CrunchFund, Mesa Global and Riot Games.

IDG Ventures’ India-based corporate venturing subsidiary has participated in the $2.4m series A round for Iceland-based game studio Plain Vanilla.

Alongside IDG Ventures, which is backed by US-based publisher International Data Group, were venture capital firms Greycroft Partners and BoldStart Ventures, China-based internet company Tencent, Crunchfund, a venture firm set up with the backing of technology company AOL, investment bank Mesa Global and online video game company Riot Games.
