Healthy snacks are all the rage across Europe and Asia, but not all brands deliver direct to your door in Asia. IDG has backed a relatively new food brand, Three Squirrels,that has gained a big customer following in China.
IDG investment Three Squirrels, an internet forest-based foodstuff site that sells nuts, dried fruit and tea leaves, has raised $6m as part of a series B round. IDG has taken part alongside Jingdong Mall investor Capital Today, one of China’s first independent private equity firms. IDG initially invested $1.5m, according to news reports.
The internet brand was introduced by Anhui Three Squirrels E-commerce in July 2012.
