HappyFresh puts $12m in its trolley

The food delivery service has received funds from Sinar Mas as well as corporate-backed Beenext and 500 Startups.

Indonesia-based grocery delivery platform HappyFresh has received $12m in series A funding from Sinar Mas Digital Ventures, the corporate venturing division of conglomerate Sinar Mas, Tech in Asia reported earlier today.

Beenext, backed by e-commerce company Beenos, and 500 Startups, backed by marketing firm Dentsu and internet company Yahoo Japan, took part in the round led by Vertex Ventures, the investment vehicle of Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund Temasek.

Asia Venture Group, Ardent Capital and Cherry Ventures also contributed funds.
