The online science community has raised $20m in a series C round led by education technology developer TAL which also featured returning backer IDG.
Guokr, a Japan-based online community for science, has received $20m in series C funding, $15m of which came from education technology company Tomorrow Advancing Life (TAL), Technode has reported.
The other $5m was provided by media and data provider IDG and additional, undisclosed backers.
In addition to running a science-based social community with 25 million users each month, Guokr has also published more than 100 books. It began running online courses in science and other fields in 2012.
