The $31m series A round will help set up an oncology franchise across four to five cities throughout India.
India-based cancer care provider Cytecare Hospitals Private has raised $31m in a series A round from investors including investment bank Goldman Sachs.
Cytecare opened its first hospital in Bangalore in 2016 with 150 beds to offer comprehensive oncology services such as chemotherapy, radiology and palliative care.
The investment will help set up an oncology franchise across four to five cities throughout India.
Ferzaan Engineer, co-founder and chairman of Cytecare, said: “Cytecare will benefit from the global network of class-leading oncology companies that Goldman Sachs is helping build worldwide through the creation of significant opportunities for research, cross-training and sharing of best practices.
“This partnership and investment adds strategic expertise and financial strength to fuel the next stage of Cytecare’s expansion.”
