Germany-based industrial conglomerate Siemens had previously backed SVOX from its Siemens Mobile Acceleration corporate venturing fund in October 2002 before then selling its Professional Speech Processing Group to the portfolio company in January 2009 and now reaping an exit.

Nuance Communications, a Nasdaq-listed voice equipment supplier, has acquired Switzerland-based SVOX, which provides voice applications for in-car systems and consumer electronics, for an undisclosed amount.
