Revolution Analytics, a US-based provider of software and support for the open-source R statistics language previously backed by Intel Capital, has raised $8.6m from 10 investors, according to a regulatory filing.

In October last year, Revolution Analytics (which was then known as REvolution Computing) raised $9m from Intel Capital, the corporate venturing division of semiconductor company Intel, and venture capital firm North Bridge Venture Partners as well as hire Norman Nie as chief executive.
