The company, which secured Amazon as an investor back in August, has developed an app that helps users save water by remotely controlling their sprinklers.

Rachio, the US-based water efficiency app developer backed by e-commerce firm Amazon, has raised $7.1m in a series A round led by growth equity fund Arborview Capital, Dow Jones VentureWire reported on Wednesday.

The round also included venture capital funds Michigan eLab, Hallett Capital and Miramar Digital Ventures, the latter two participating as existing investors.
