The corporate gamification app developer secured the money in a series A round featuring InTouch Holdings' early-stage investment arm.

Playbasis, a Thailand-based developer of gamification apps for corporate clients, has closed a $1.9m series A round led by a subsidiary of telecommunications company Intouch Holdings, TechCrunch has reported.

InVent, which acts as Intouch’s early-stage investment arm, participated alongside existing backers Cherubic Ventures and 500 Startups.

Playbasis creates app technology using gamification and reward programs to address issues in the workplace. The company is based in Bangkok with its holding company headquartered in Singapore.
