Industrial manufacturers O-Film Tech and Tianma Bearing have co-led a $15.3m round for Pimax, which plans to launch an 8K VR headset in 2018.
China-based virtual reality headset developer Pimax has closed a series A round sized at almost RMB100m ($15.3m) co-led by optical technology producer O-Film Tech and bearings manufacturer Tianma Bearing, Yivian has reported.
Pimax launched the world’s first 4K VR headset in 2016 and intends to bring an 8K device to market in 2018 that will have a 200-degree field of vision, comparable to that of the human eye.
