Sam Morris, a GCV Emerging Leader, played a key role in the development of BTV’s first fund.

Sam Morris has left his role as investment lead at Btomorrow Ventures (BTV), the corporate VC arm of British American Tobacco (BAT), to join Strathclyde Pension Fund as assistant investment manager.
A GCV Emerging Leader, Morris joined BTV in 2021 and played a key role in the development of BTV’s first fund and worked on some of its biggest deals.
Founded in 2020, BTV manages £350m across two strategic investment funds, partnering with early-stage companies between pre-series A to series B+. The team invests in companies focused on functional food and beverage, technology and emerging capabilities, reduced risk nicotine products and impact and sustainability, which aligns with their wider corporate mission to build ‘A Better Tomorrow’.
