A GCV Rising Star, Ashkan Eliasy is now the founder and managing director of Nuvisy, a strategic advisory firm for healthcare innovation.

Ashkan Eliasy has left his role investment principal at Topcon Healthcare, a Japanese company specialising in eye health, to set up his own advisory firm, Nuvisy Strategic Advisory.

A GCV Rising Star in 2026, Eliasy joined Topcon Healthcare two years ago to help scale its corporate venture activity. He supported investments across ophthalmology, healthcare AI, diagnostics, digital health, remote monitoring and medtech.

Speaking of his time in corporate venturing in a LinkedIn post announcing his move, Elisay shared, “Having been a founder myself, one of the most meaningful parts of this chapter was working closely with startups, understanding the ambition behind their technology, the realities of commercialization, and the gap that often exists between strategy, capital, and clinical adoption.”

Eliasy cofounded fintech startup Caena.io and eye care accessibility startup Ocuwell prior to joining Topcon Healthcare.

Nuvisy is a strategic advisory firm for healthcare innovation that works with startups, investors and corporates.

Topcon Healthcare’s corporate venturing team invests from the corporate balance sheet and manages a portfolio of around 18 startups, with another dozen investments in the pipeline for the coming year.
