The Scholastic-backed browser company has attracted additional funding from previous investors, to coincide with the launch of its new search engine.

KidZui, the US-based web browser designed for use by children, has raised an additional $2m in equity, following on from an initial $4m series C round of funding announced in March 2010. This latest funding takes KidZui’s overall financing to $16m since its launch.

The funding, made up of $1m secured in the autumn of last year and a further $1m this spring, was provided by venture capital (VC) firms Mission Ventures, Maveron and Emergence Capital Partners.
