Olivier Garel, vice-president of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), replaced Martin Grieve as head of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company Unilever’s corporate venturing unit last year. Garel, a long-term Unilever executive, takes over after Unilever committed a further $450m to its corporate venturing unit for its third fund to help it expand in Asia and North America from Europe. He was a student at Université Paris Dauphine and Université Paris Nord.
