The US league for American football is co-ordinating its members to invest in venture capital.
The National Football League is planning a more than $32m venture capital fund, to make angel-style investments.
American football club owners were briefed on the fund last week and could vote on the measures in December, according to an NFL spokeswoman. The story was first reported by news provider the Sports Business Journal yesterday.
Each team in the league would be expected to contribute $1m, the Sports Business Journal said, and it quoted Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, who said that football club owners were committed to moving the fund forward.
