Bloomberg Beta had previously co-led a seed round of undisclosed size for security robot developer Cobalt Robotics two years ago.

US-based robot security guard developer Cobalt Robotics has attracted $13m in series A funding from investors including Bloomberg Beta, the corporate venturing arm of media and data group Bloomberg.

Sequoia Capital led the round, which also featured fellow venture capital firms Founders Fund, Storm Ventures and Promus Ventures.

Founded in 2016, Cobalt has built a robot security guard that employs autonomous steering, anomaly recognition and machine learning technology to patrol clients’ premises and report unwanted intrusions.
