Bertelsmann India Investments led the round's $6m first tranche in January, before BigFoot, the owner of e-commerce services provider KartRocket, closed it at $8m.

BigFoot Retail Solutions, the India-based operator of e-commerce services platform KartRocket, has closed a series B round featuring media group Bertelsmann at $8m, according to the Economic Times.

Bertelsmann’s local corporate venturing division Bertelsmann India Investments led a $6m first tranche in January 2016 that also included e-commerce company Beenext, Nirvana Digital India Fund, Nirvana Digital Investment Holding and 500 Startups.

The additinal capital was provided by an undisclosed investor reported to be based in Japan.
