Olivier Cognet has left telecom company Belgacom for Ginko Ventures, a new strategic VC that will invest in partnership with Foxconn.
Olivier Cognet, once the head of business development for mobile device maker Nokia, has left his role at Belgium-based telecommunications company Belgacom to take up a position as managing partner and chief financial officer of Ginko Ventures.
Although precise details concerning the relationship between the two companies have not yet been revealed, Switzerland-based Ginko will make strategic investments in support of its industrial partner, China-based electronics contract manufacturer Foxconn.
Cognet joined Belgacom in February 2012 after more than seven years working for Finland-based Nokia, where he was the head of its corporate development office and then vice president of marketing for its go-to-market activities.
