Slack Fund participated in a series A round that the virtual assistant developer will use to expand its sales and marketing teams.

Clara Labs, the US-based creator of a virtual assistant that can schedule meetings, raised $7m on Wednesday in a series A round featuring communication platform developer Slack.

The round was led by Basis Set Ventures, a $136m artificial intelligence (AI) venture capital fund that launched the same day. It VC firms included Sequoia Capital and First Round Capital, while Slack Fund participated through its corporate venturing unit, Slack Fund.
