The semiconductor maker has welcome the corporate backers to an investor base previously restricted to venture capital firms, and has now raised $33.4m.

US-based fabless semiconductor producer EnVerv has completed a $15.4m series C round featuring computing company Cisco and semiconductor foundry UMC.

Cisco and UMC Capital, the corporate venturing subsidiary of Taiwan-based UMC, invested alongside Cassiopeia Capital Partners and existing investors Benchmark Capital, NEA and Walden International.
