Virtual reality company Jaunt has lifted its overall funding to $35m in the last year from backers including Google and BSkyB.

US-based virtual reality technology developer Jaunt raised $27.8m yesterday from a series B round featuring participation from Google Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of internet company Google. 

UK-based broadcaster BSkyB and venture capital firms Redpoint Ventures and Highland Capital Partners also took part in the round alongside private investors Peter Gotcher and Blake Krikorian.

Jaunt creates software, tools, hardware and applications for cinematic virtual reality systems. Its technology uses proprietary algorithms and computational photography software to create 3D experiences.
